Measuring the cost-effectiveness and value of the use of genomics in health care.

Led by QIMR Berghofer, this project team is evaluating Queensland Genomics clinical projects to determine the financial impact of implementing genomics in clinical practice. The objectives of this project include:

  • evaluate the cost-effectiveness of genomic testing in specific disease and testing contexts, compared with standard care
  • provide a budget impact analysis from Queensland Health and the Hospital and Health Services viewpoint
  • long term cost to society and impact of diseases
  • benefits to patients and their families who receive tailored care.
